We were on the news! πΊβ¨
So grateful to share that Nova Medical Wearables was recently featured on ABC27 WHTM. It's a full-circle moment for a brand that started with a very personal question: why do medical devices have to be so ugly?
After my chronic illness research study, and then needing a port and a PICC line myself, I couldn't unsee the gap between how medical devices function and how they make people feel. Nova exists to close that gap: PICC line covers designed to give people comfort, confidence, and a little bit of joy on days that don't always feel easy.
A few things I loved getting to share in this piece:
π¨ Our PICC line covers, made from eco-recycled spandex and nylon, now available in seven colors
π° A current custom project: designing a cover to match a bride's wedding dress
π₯ Our long-term vision to partner with hospitals and expand what "adaptive fashion" can look like
Huge thank you to Mallory Metzner at ABC27 for reporting this story with so much thoughtfulness and care, and for helping Nova's mission reach even more people who need to hear it. (Fellow UD Blue Hen, too! π)
And thank you to everyone who has shared their own experience with me along the way. This brand is being built with the chronic illness community, not just for it.
